Day 8: A More Hospitable Valley

Today we crossed Yosemite National Park.

The day began with the cooking of an inordinate quantity of bacon, for breakfast, and for sandwiches for the road.

We then headed for the road that would take us across Yosemite. The road is closed in winter, as it climbs a mountain.

We had already entered the park when I took over driving duties. The driving was less interesting than Death Valley had been, at least until the descent into Yosemite Valley, where the road became particularly interesting as it made its way along the side of the valley.

In Yosemite Valley we had time to walk to the falls before continuing on to the other side of the park.

We are spending the night in a log cabin in a campsite near the park. Tomorrow we continue on to San Francisco.
