Today I harvested the first of the courgettes. There were two fruit ready to harvest. Both of these were from the larger of my two courgette plantsof the 'Tuscany' variety, which produces dark green fruit. My second courgette plant (a 'Lemona') still looks some way off producing fruit. Though tiny yellow ovaries are visible behind the underdeveloped female flowers. I have yet to see any male flowers open on either plant.
I had not really planned to harvest courgettes today, so I didn't really have a plan for using them. After frying them up, however, they went well with the pasta that I had planned to cook regardless.
